About this Event
Remand foster carers offer short‑term, family‑based placements for teenagers awaiting court outcomes or on bail. We are seeking individuals with experience working with children and young people who are interested in this specialist fostering role.
This event is suitable for people with experience in:
- Foster care
- Youth justice or policing
- Residential or secure children’s homes
- Youth work, mentoring, or outreach
- Education or behaviour support
- Probation, mental health, or community safety
- Working with high‑risk or vulnerable young people
Remand foster carers provide:
- A safe, stable home with clear boundaries
- Trauma‑informed support, de‑escalation, and advocacy
- Collaboration with social care, YOS, schools, and courts
We offer:
- Specialist remand fostering training
- A dedicated supervising social worker
- 24/7 professional support
- £893 per week, plus the young person’s allowances
