GPS TIP: putting 1500 Bethlehem Rd into GPS may help get you to the property
better than the actual address. . .look for a dark fence and signs!
Friday, 6:30-9pm: Dinner & Activity
Dinner will be provided. The plan is for dinner to be catered BBQ from a local restaurant. We will eat at church tables/chairs in a building that has a full restroom.
After dinner, we will have a faith-based activity with a video and opportunities to share experiences and testimonies of Jesus Christ.
Friday, 9pm-Saturday 9am: Option to “Camp”
If sisters would like to spend the night, the following options are available:
-Bring a cot, air mattress, sleeping bag, etc and sleep inside the building which has several fans, electricity, full refrigerator, and a full bathroom.
-Bring tents to camp outside of the building - electrical outlets are available outside of the building if you would like to be in a tent but also have a fan or other electrical devices.
-If you have a camper, and would like to bring it, that is an option too.
We will plan to have typical “camp” experiences such as a campfire, snacks, maybe a fun movie, board games, etc overnight.
Saturday, 9am-12noon: Breakfast & Activities
A continental-breakfast will be provided.
Indoor & Outdoor activities will be available, such as:
-Kayaking (We have several kayaks/life jackets lined up, but if you have your own, please bring them to share!)
-Fishing (The lake has fish! if you have your own equipment, bring it!)
-Corn Hole
- “Time Out for Women” discussion sessions
-Service Project opportunities
-Board Games
-Walking/Hiking
-Chatting with other women
Possible Questions/Concerns:
What if I don’t want to camp? Please join us for any portion(s) that you are comfortable with! We’d love to have you come to dinner on Friday night. Or maybe you’re busy Friday night. . . then come for breakfast and activities Saturday morning. Maybe your children have graduation or other activities on Saturday morning. . .come just for Friday night. We would love to see you for any amount of time!
Are there bathrooms/showers? There is one full, interior bathroom with a shower. It’s true that we’ll be kind of limited on the bathroom front, but we anticipate that many of the women that choose to spend the night will be ok with waiting til they get home to take a shower. 🙂
Will there be men there? At this point, we anticipate having two men (President LiCausi and Kenny O’Bara) spend the night on the property, in their own tent(s) or camper - close enough, and far enough away from the “barn” building.
Isn’t this the same day as the Pre-FSY Activity? Yes - The Pre-FSY activity for youth starts at 3:30pm at the Fernandina Building. We’re hopeful that if you are involved in that activity that you will still be able to join us for some (or all) of our activity as well. We totally understand if you are only able to join us for Friday evening, or can spend the night but will need to head out Saturday morning at some point.
