Relief Printing on Canvas Tote Bags

Instructor: Angela Risinger

Department: Printmaking

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of relief carving and printing using blocks and relief gouges. Students will see examples of various work from different artists, and experiment with carving and inking a block. We will create designs for the purpose of printing them on a canvas tote bag. At the end of class, everyone will be bringing home a unique bag with their prints on it. They will also have the chance to use an etching press and work in a print studio.
