We know summer can get busy so here is an intensive 2 hour workshop! We cover a lot in this workshop.
This is an engaging & fun workshop! The most important skill you can teach your dog is a reliable recall.
This course is great for puppies (over 4 mths old) learning their recall skills or older dogs that need some refresher training or your new rescue dog!
In this class you’ll learn reward based positive reinforcement training strategies and training techniques for getting your dog to achieve a reliable recall back to you.
We start off the workshop with outdoor classroom-based learning and then get practicing at our secure outdoor training arena (Kalispell).
We love to train in real-world settings and use our Training Arena to practice.
We will be focusing on how to get your dog’s attention and how to keep their attention on you with outdoor distractions.
Owners will learn the skills to achieve a reliable recall with their dog and at the same time giving the dog opportunities to also be a dog on their walks.
Recall should be fun and a natural way to connect with your dog, being able to enjoy being outside!
Topics include:
• Why dogs get distracted on recall/common mistakes
• Making recall fun
• Practicing at longer distances
• Shaping attention in a distracting environment
