Workshop Title: Heart-Centered Check-Ins: Deep Listening In Relationship
Description:
This workshop is designed for individuals who are seeking to enhance their communication and connection with those significant to them (i.e. friends, partners, lovers, chosen family, and beyond). Through heart-centered check-ins, participants will have the opportunity to engage in vulnerable, authentic conversations that foster emotional intimacy and understanding. These check-ins serve as a tool to support vulnerability and intimacy, repair after hurt, build trust, and ensure that all voices are heard and respected.
In collaboration with Mashti Community, Clare Zhou (they/them) will be facilitating this workshop based on a protocol co-created with Biu Rainey (she/they) as two co-parents and life partners navigating non-monogamy. One goal of this protocol is to cultivate safety in the vulnerable conversations of the heart, while learning to W**d out and address the head-centered (analyzing, problem-solving) conversations for after. If you have used RADAR and find that it did not support your sense of feeling heard or felt it was inadequate for compassionately navigating conflict and hurt, this workshop may be for you.
You are welcome to bring and work with someone significant to you in this guided heart-centered check-in. Participants will be encouraged to adjust the protocol based on the pair's needs. You are welcome to come alone. This workshop can be for everyone and is therefore not only for people who are in or want to have sexual, romantic, emotional relationships or practicing non-monogamy.
By exploring the power of deep listening and honest sharing of the heart, attendees will learn how to navigate complex dynamics with empathy and clarity. The practice also provides a space for ongoing consent-making, empowering participants to make conscious, mutual agreements that reflect their evolving needs and boundaries. Whether you're new to non-monogamy or seeking to strengthen your existing relationships, this workshop offers practical tools for cultivating meaningful, heart-led conversations and creating a culture of care and respect.
