About this Event
Reimagined City: Summer Art Workshop is a painting workshop exploring international influence on local culture, stories of identity, and the migrant history of Manchester.
Tracing identity through art, each participant will learn to paint their own canvas and share their story. These canvas will be collected and turned into a larger piece of installation to be exhibited at The Portico Library and Manchester Garden Of Peach.
Workshop opens to all ages.

The Summer Art Workshop is part of the Reimagined City Festival. Reimagined City is a collaborative art and music festival on 7th-8th December 2024 that celebrates the International Migrant Day through diverse activities including music, poetry, spoken word, art, dance and theatrical workshops and performances delivered by emerging artists from migrant background. This festival aims to bring social coherence in Manchester by encouraging the audience to understand and embrace diverse cultures through art. The festival is open to the public.

Cherelle Ann (poetry/ spoken words workshop and performance), Sharvi Rana (theatrical performance), K'in Ensemble (fusion ensemble workshop and performance), Tina Ramos Ekongo (art installation workshop), Harriet Kwong (world percussion workshop), Louiseanne Wong (parkour/ movement workshop), Jason Wong (percussion performance), Alvin Wong (saxophone performance), Johanna Leung (multi-media/ clarinet performance).
