About this Event
This practical, beginners course enables you to use Reiki for self-healing and for helping friends and family. It includes a hands-on introduction to the human energy field and the chakras, giving you first-hand understanding of the subtle bodies and how energy moves through them.
You will receive an authentic, individual Reiki Level 1 attunement. This is an energy transmission that enables you to channel the Reiki healing energy, for life. It will be given to you by Cindy in person.
Reiki is not something you learn. It is something you remember. And once you receive your attunement, it cannot be taken away.
What makes this course different
Cindy Theodore is a 20th Generation Shaman and Reiki Master Teacher carrying a Vodou priestess lineage. She teaches the complete, traditional Usui Reiki Level 1 curriculum, and she teaches it within something larger: a lineage-held container that honours the full depth of what Reiki is and what it opens in the people who receive it.
What is unique to her courses is the Intuitive Bridge, a framework woven through the student manual that connects Reiki directly to your intuitive awakening. Most Reiki courses teach you how to channel healing energy. This course also teaches you to recognise and trust what you begin to sense as that channel opens: the 8 Clairs, your chakra gifts, and the Ikigai framework for discovering your soul's purpose.
Reiki and intuition are not separate paths. This course treats them as one.
Before the day: pre-course online module
To make the most of our time together in person, you will receive a short online theory module before the course date. This means you arrive grounded in the foundations of Reiki, and the full day can be dedicated to what cannot be learned from a screen: the felt sense of energy, the hands-on healing practice, and the initiation itself.

Theory and foundations:
• What Reiki is, its history, how it was discovered and how it came to the West
• The story of Mikao Usui's quest and the unbroken lineage of transmission to the present day
• What and where the chakras are and how to work with them
• The foundations and guidelines for energy healing
• Insights into the nature of dis-ease, why people experience illness, and how healing happens • Techniques for aura cleansing (Kenyoku Ho), grounding and connecting
• Reiki breathing and visualisation, feeling the energy for yourself
• What a Reiki attunement (Reiju) is, what it does, and what to expect
• The Five Reiki Principles (Gokai) as a daily healing and mindfulness practice
Hands-on healing practice:
• The hand positions for giving others a full Reiki treatment (18-position sequence)
• The hand positions for self-healing (13-position self-treatment sequence)
• The structure of a healing session: how to prepare the space, yourself (Hatsurei Ho) and the receiver
• Sensing the chakras and working with the Reiki Chakra Balancing Technique
• Introduction to Byosen and Byosen Reikan Ho, the energy scanning technique
• How to use Reiki for healing pets, growing plants and energising food and water
• The benefits of Reiki and how it complements other therapies and medical care

What to expect on the day
You will spend the day in a small, intimate group in a professionally held healing space in the heart of Brighton’s vibrant Kemptown. The atmosphere is warm, grounded and sacred; this is not a lecture.
It is an initiation.
You will give and receive Reiki. You will be attuned. You will begin to feel the energy moving through your hands, and to trust what you sense. You will leave with a permanent attunement, a daily self-healing practice, and your intuitive senses more awake than when you arrived.
Many students describe this day as one of the most significant of their lives, not because of what was taught, but because of what was remembered.
A note before the day
Where possible, please avoid alcohol the day before and the morning of the course. This supports your energy body in receiving the attunement as clearly as possible and will enhance your experience of the day significantly. Wear comfortable clothing. Bring a notebook. Come open.
