First Degree Reiki: Shoden
"First Teachings," Opening the Channel
The first degree opens the energy channel and permits the student to channel Reiki mainly at the physical level, both for himself and for others. It consists of one initiation in the traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho system. After the initiation, the student may note a subtle energy flowing through his hands. This can be perceived in various ways, including heat, coolness, tickling, buzzing, or just a strange feeling in the hands. Sometimes it takes a period of time after the initiation before the student feels the energy.
This level is open to anyone. No previous experience or preparation is required. It is usually taught in one day. The initiation/attunement connects the student’s energy system to the Universal Energy. Energy blockages are released, balancing and harmonizing the major energy centers known as chakras. The attunement opens the central energy channel leading from the crown of the head to the bottom of the spine. It connects the students to the Universal Energy permanently, allowing them to channel the energy whenever they wish.
At first, the amount of energy channeled after the attunement can vary considerably, but the more the student uses Reiki, the more constant the energy becomes. In this level, the majority of the time, the energy is mostly the physical level, with the remainder being on the mental/emotional and spiritual levels.
Each student will receive:
- Energy Healing 101
- 1st degree Reiki handbook
- An attunement to open the student to reiki energy
- The first Reiki symbol-- the power symbol, which increases the energy and helps healing on a physical level
- Reiki meditation techniques to build and expand energy
- Instructions of Self-healing, and providing a reiki session for friends/family
- The reiki hand positions
- Practice time to give and receive a reiki treatment
- 1st Degree Usui Reiki Practitioner certificate
- Ongoing support from me after your class, and an invitation to Reiki Share circles
First Degree: $275 -- 1 day class - Instruction, attunement, practice, and certification
