Reiki is a universal life-force energy, which originated in Japan in the 1920's, and was introduced to the Western world by Hawayo Takata in Hawaii in the mid 1900’s. When used with care & intention, Reiki can have the profound ability to help heal people, animals, and situations on a mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical level. Reiki can also act as a trusted guide & ally in your daily life, creative practices, in conjunction with other healing modalities, and so much more!

This Reiki Level 1 Course is an initiation and an invitation into a potent journey of self-healing and energetic awareness.

In choosing to welcome Reiki into your life, you begin a process of healing yourself in a deep way, so that you can live your truth, move towards your highest potential, and spread positive energy in the world around you.

Part group healing ceremony, part informative class, this weekend Reiki Level 1 intensive will include:

-A modern history of Reiki

-An introduction to the Reiki Principles & the philosophy of the practice

-An explanation of Qi and how it relates to Reiki

-Instruction & hands-on practice on how to activate Reiki and use it to treat yourself

-An introduction & hands-on practice on how to treat others with Reiki

-An overview of different systems to understand energy in the body (including the chakra system from India, & the energetic channels from Chinese Medicine) and how you can use them to help guide your treatments

-A private Reiki attunement

-Tips on additional & traditional techniques, how to use Reiki in all areas of your life, creative endeavors, and more!

-Recommendations on additional resources & physical practices to help you develop an awareness of energy moving through your body

-Energetic support for your 21 days of self-healing that follows, including weekly emails with optional journaling / reflection exercises

-A Reiki Level 1 Practitioner Certificate

Reiki Level 1 is a powerful initiation into this sacred healing modality, and what usually follows your first Reiki class is a deep process of self-healing. To say that a Reiki Level 1 is life-changing is not an exaggeration!

A NOTE ON REIKI:

Reiki is an energy healing method that originated in Japan. The method of Reiki I practice is based upon the Usui Reiki Method, but has been inevitably Westernized since being taught in America for the past many decades. It is not the same as Traditional Japanese Reiki (which is not largely practiced outside of Japan). Out of respect for the cultural traditions of Japan, and the ascended masters in my lineage, I acknowledge that this cultural tradition does not belong to me. I practice with reverence and gratitude for this powerful healing modality. I will be donating a percentage of the revenue from this class to the Portland chapter of the Japanese-American Citizens League.

About Sarah (she/her):

Sarah Rayne is a queer witch, a healing artist, and a holder of sacred space. She alchemizes group magic & expands awareness through her ceremony + workshop offerings, and supports clients on their healing journeys through nourishing 1:1 sessions that include tarot readings, reiki energy healing, intuitive guidance, and/or sound healing. She is the founder and magician-in-chief of Firebird Healing Arts, and shares her magic locally in Portland, OR, as well as online, with the whole world.

She aims to cultivate sacred spaces that feel inclusive, safe, trauma-aware, magical, grounded + real, and full of integrity. She is passionate about teaching and offering Reiki because of the profound impact this sacred healing modality has had on her life and personal healing journey. It is her hope that each of us can find the support, tools, resilience, and faith that we need to grow into the people we want to be, and create lives full of meaning, sacredness, and joy.
