Reiki is an ancient Japanese holistic healing technique/method that is used for stress reduction, relaxation, and spiritual healing. “Rei” means universal, higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness, and “Ki” means vital life force energy that flows through all living things.
A Reiki share, also known as Reiki circle or exchange, is a gathering of Reiki practitioners who participate in group Reiki treatments on each other. The main purpose of the Reiki share is to give and receive Reiki in a casual atmosphere of friendship, honor, positive energy, and devotion. Reiki shares usually last a few hours.
Reiki shares are free to the public and offer the time to
1) Socialize and make new friends in their Reiki community.
2) Learn about Reiki through peer support.
3) Find a Reiki client, practitioner, or trainer.
Each Reiki event is different, but they usually include one of more of the following activities:
Self introductions
Talks/Feedback
Prayers (often silent)
Meditation
Grounding
Singing bowls
Music
Reflexology
Chakra healing/balancing
Chanting
Light Language
Smudging
Aromatherapy
Crystals/gemstones
Others could include a variety of different rituals not mentioned above.
