REI Opt Outside Adventure Day
About this Event
Get ready for a day of adventure, connection, and community! Join Black Men Run Washington, DC and REI Partner Adina Crawford for an exciting REI Outside experience at Terrapin Adventures in Savage, Maryland.
A little history behind #OptOutside: In 2015, REI launched its #OptOutside movement by closing its stores on Black Friday and encouraging employees and the public to spend time outdoors instead of shopping. What began as a bold alternative to holiday consumerism grew into a nationwide movement celebrating nature, connection, and the importance of getting outside. In 2022, REI made its Black Friday closures permanent.
Whether you're ready to challenge yourself on the adventure course or prefer to cheer everyone on from the sidelines, there's a place for you! Bring a friend, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and enjoy a morning of fun, fellowship, and fresh air.
