Rehabilitation Frameworks for Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)

In this presentation, Dr. Jonathon Ross will explore Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and approaches to rehabilitation.

This presentation will include:

  • How our understanding of FND rehabilitation has evolved
  • What current neuroscience tells us about brain networks involved in movement, attention, sensory processing, and the sense of control or agency
  • Why rehabilitation for FND can look different from traditional rehabilitation
  • Tailoring individualized rehabilitation plans with consideration of sensory, autonomic, motor, psychological, and environmental factors
  • The role of education, exercise, and multidisciplinary care in helping individuals regain confidence in movement and function

The presentation will emphasize a practical and hopeful message: FND symptoms are real, potentially reversible, and increasingly understood through advances in neuroscience and rehabilitation.

This is a HYBRID Meeting.
