BCACC'S Regional Workshops are back in 2026! Join us for 2 days of evidence-based trauma training, stakeholder dialogue, and opportunities to connect with fellow practitioners.
This year, we're turning the spotlight on complex trauma so practitioners can understand it better and improve their transferable skills, but that's not all! Here's what we have in store for you.

DAY 1
FULL DAY WORKSHOP: 'Beyond the Wound: Implementing Effective Trauma Interventions'
Presenter: Dr Carissa Muth , PsyD, RPsych
What you will learn:
> The neuroscience of trauma, including current theories on the etiology of PTSD and Complex PTSD.
> An overview of assessing trauma, including differential diagnoses, which is imperative to implementing effective treatments.
> How to match evidence-based treatment methods with presentations of trauma.
> A staged approach to addressing trauma that includes the integration of therapeutic methods such as narrative therapy, CBT, DBT skills, and positive psychology.
EVENING SOCIAL RECEPTION
A wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow RCCs from across your region. Deepen professional relationships, share insights from the day’s learning, and build connections within BC’s mental health community.
DAY 2
SHAREHOLDER ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION
Lend your voice to mental health policy. Join this dialogue with government officials, service partners, health authority representatives, and fellow practitioners to surface barriers, discuss emerging client needs, and co-create solutions that reflect front-line realities in your region.
HALF-Day WORKSHOP: 'Through an Indigenous Lens'
Providing Indigenous Frameworks to create safety for Indigenous clients, ways to work with clients while considering the seven generations before and the seven generations to come. Strength-based practices, land-based healing. Effective communication. What trauma stems from, and how to respond to clients who have been impacted by trauma. Intergenerational trauma and where it comes from, and how it shows up in the body.
