Blending humour, family drama, and vibrant Bollywood-inspired fantasy, the film follows Pakistani Muslim Mariam and her Canadian-born daughter, Azra, as they come of age in two different eras while navigating identity, culture, and generational expectations. Set against the backdrop of the late 1980s and early 1990s on Canada’s east coast, the film offers a heartfelt and visually rich exploration of the Pakistani-Canadian experience.
