About this Event
What is the power of material invention in forging belonging in future built environments as we enter the mid-twentieth-first century? What role do artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced manufacturing and robotics play as prompts for design agency where context, matter, and technology converge and are intrinsically interdependent? This presentation will discuss foundational approaches to materials innovation in future construction sourced from rethinking the role of biowaste materials. Prof. Gutierrez will present her research on new frontiers in material regenerative functionalities, AI, and material cultures in the built environment as new forms to advance health and belonging in future societies.
