The Refuel Workshop is a fitness based love and laughter workshop led by fitness professional and smile enthusiast Kylie Gates-Barrett.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT: Some fitness. Some mindfulness. New friends and a whole lot of love and laughter.
DESCRIPTION: You are invited to step out of your comfort zone and join Kylie for a two hour experience designed to help refuel in a completely fun, meaningful and unique way. The goal is for all participants to leave with more presence, power and peace in their lives, a smile on their face and at least one new friend in their hearts. We will unite with others and TOGETHER try something new. This event will include kickboxing, laughter therapy (a.k.a. laughter yoga), line dancing, mindfulness and stretching and most of all, just celebrating YOU.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Kylie Gates-Barrett is the co-founder, with her amazing husband, Mike, of the Sharing Smiles Project. She is a smile enthusiast with an incredible passion for health and wellness. Kylie has a true love of group fitness and passion for helping others lead healthier, happier lives. Her daily prayer is to help be a light onto others. She believes in the superheroes in all of us, that we are stronger together, and in the power of helping build a community of “crown straighteners”.
Kylie is a Certified Group Fitness Instructor through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Full time she is the Group Fitness and Programs Manager at Ascension Genesys Health Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan. She also proudly serves as a brand ambassador for her hubby, and Real Estate Consultant, Mike Barrett. Currently, in addition to the Refuel Workshop, she teaches a variety of formats including Barre Intensity, Cardio Drumming and more.
Kylie graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1996. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications with a specialization in Interpersonal Communications and additional major in Psychology from Michigan State University. She also graduated top of her class from Specs Howard School of Media Arts and made it ½ way to her Master’s Degree but is on a long-time hiatus.
Most importantly, Kylie is a mom. Her boys Peyton & Caleb are now 13 & 15. She is also blessed with incredibly loving and supportive family and friends including 3 incredible step-kids, two beautiful granddaughters, and most recently, an adorable new healthy grandson!
Kylie lives in Grand Blanc with husband Mike, two teenage boys, and Cavapoo Gracie.
