EVERYONE HAS A STORY TO TELL.This June, Youth Documentary Academy, the Southern Colorado Public Media Center and *you* invite the community to gather for three evenings of films, conversation, and bold storytelling in downtown Colorado Springs.
Join us for REFOCUS #1 on Wednesday, June 3rd at 6pm and meet the new YDA Class of 2026 alongside Emmy-winning filmmaker and YDA lead instructor Eric Risher.
Eric’s work has screened at Sundance, Mountainfilm, Frameline, and on PBS and Netflix — and now he’s bringing his insight into documentary editing and storytelling to Colorado Springs for a free community master class and Q&A.
Come explore how documentaries are shaped, how stories create connection, and why youth voices matter now more than ever.
