Reflexology Training
5 CE Hours | Approved by NCTMB through Michael Matthews Workshops LLC
Instructor: Jillian Ricks
Investment: $150
Reflexology offers a beautiful way to deepen the impact of massage through simple, focused techniques on the hands and feet. This 5-hour continuing education class introduces massage therapists to the origins and foundations of reflexology along with practical techniques that integrate seamlessly into everyday bodywork.
My teaching style feels relaxed, laid-back and rejuvenating while also encouraging curiosity and discovery. The day unfolds in a workshop atmosphere that feels a bit like a retreat. Less lecture, more experience. Therapists spend time learning, practicing and receiving, so the information settles into the hands as well as the mind.
Throughout my own massage practice, reflexology weaves into many techniques. These points support the body in powerful ways while remaining gentle, non-invasive and easy on the practitioner’s hands and body. Once the reflex points become familiar, they blend naturally into therapeutic massage sessions, relaxation work, spa treatments and even a simple foot scrub.
During this course, participants explore reflex points connected with digestion, immune support, heart, lungs, reproductive organs and many other areas of the body. Indications and contraindications receive thoughtful attention, so therapists gain confidence bringing reflexology into professional practice.
Reflexology adds another vibrant tool to the toolbox of a holistic massage therapist. Through the hands and feet, this work touches the whole person, supporting balance for the mind, body and spirit.
**What You Learn**
• The history and foundational concepts of reflexology
• Key reflex points on the hands and feet that correspond with major organs and body systems
• Practical reflexology techniques that integrate easily into massage sessions
• Reflex points related to digestion, immune support, heart, lungs, reproductive organs, and more
• Indications and contraindications for safe and effective reflexology work
• Ways to incorporate reflexology into therapeutic massage, relaxation sessions and spa services
• Hands-on practice giving and receiving reflexology
Massage therapists often search for techniques that offer powerful results while remaining gentle on the practitioner’s body. Reflexology fits beautifully into that vision.
