Reflective Windows: Finding Light in the Winter
About this Event
Some people experience Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a form of depression characterized by recurrent depressive episodes that follow a predictable seasonal pattern, commonly starting in fall or winter and resolving in spring or summer. As autumn and winter arrive and the days shorten, managing these seasonal changes can challenge our mood and energy.
Activity:
For our workshop, we invite you to stoke warmth, ground yourself, and focus on reflecting through the lens of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) awareness. We invite participants to reflect on the past month, focusing on areas of our lives where we can cultivate gratitude, strengthen supportive boundaries, and foster belonging during this time. Participants are invited to visualize or write about their reflections based on 6 seasonal prompts.
"Visualize looking through cozy windows into different areas of your mind and life, drawing out the light within."
Where: Painted Brain Community Center
Time: 3:30-5:30
We will be hosting a fall movie night after the workshop for anyone who wants to join! RSVP separately.
