A new year means different things to everyone, but offers a reflection moment for all. There was The Scopes Monkey trial, where a high school teacher was in violation of the law for teaching evolution, now look how far we've evolved — or not if you feel Idiocracy is upon us. Winston Churchill returned England to the gold standard, now we have digital, decentralized cryptocurrency. Charles Francis Jenkins achieved the first synchronized transmission of pictures and sound — that's TV in layman's terms — now we're attached to the hip with internet connected pocket-sized TVs.
