*** The 2nd Annual Reel Deal Beach Clean-Up will be coming soon!!! Last year, so many amazing members of our community showed up! The weigh station verdict showed that our participants cleaned a total of... ***1,560lbs *** of washed-up beach debris and left behind trash!!! ( BIG THANKS TO S.O.S Save our Seas Junk Removal for donating a dump trailer...we filled it!
I plan to set everything up similar to last time, with free food, free drinks and some free LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCES by local artists!
There will be a registration table down on the beach directly infront of the Michael J. Ellis parking lot and Sea wall directly behind the Wydham Hotel.
First and foremost, it takes a community working together for the most amazing things to happen! I want to give credit where it is due.
Every restaurant, bar, coffee shop. Even Academy, Target, and HEB supported the cause by donating gift cards. I supplied all the grand prizes: 1st place - 8'1" Torq Longboard Surfboard, 2nd Place - Newest model, IGLOO rolling cooling with a built-in phone charger, water dispenser, offroading tires, and even ROD HODLERS. Followed by a few BBQ grills and other things that any South Texan beach lover would appreciate.
Chances to win prizes start when you exchange trash bags in turn for raffle tickets. For example: A full yellow beach trash bag = 1 raffle ticket. In return for bringing a full standard-size kitchen bag = 2, a 50-60 gallon contractor bag would earn you even more!
Our generous and hard-working business owners around our North Padre Island, each donated multiple gift cards: Academy, Target, Whataburger, Sonic, WB Liquor, and Starbucks, included. I am looking forward to seeing friends throughout the community, come out and take action towards keeping our beloved South Packery Beach as beautiful as possibl@
