About this Event

🎉 ReDressed 2026 – It’s Time to Get Creative!

Proudly hosted by The ReDress Hub, for the fourth year, and supported by Launceston City Council, ReDressed 2026 is your chance to shine on the sustainable fashion stage!

This isn't just a competition — it's a celebration of creativity, skill and circular fashion. Your challenge? Take one (or up to three) preloved garments and transform them into a stunning new wearable outfit. Think fashion-forward, not fast fashion. Make it practical, wearable, and wow-worthy — not a one-time-only art piece.

🎨 Design it. Remake it. Rock it.

Submit your upcycled masterpiece by 5pm, August 21st 2026, and you could be selected as one of 25 finalists to showcase your look in the spectacular ReDressed ReFashion Show at The Tramsheds, Launceston on September 17th.

🏆 Prizes awarded in every category!

Who can enter?

ReDressed is for all Tasmanian garment makers, using any sewing, knitting, crochet etc clothing-making techniques. Beginners are encouraged to ‘give it a go’ but need to be mindful that garments are also judged on craftsmanship.

There are five participant categories:

  • Under 18
  • Adult amateur
  • Professional designer maker
  • Fashion &/or textile design tertiary student
  • NEW: Supported adults - people requiring additional support to accomplish their entry

You can also enter as a TEAM under any of these categories.

What do I need to enter?

You will need to have the tools and equipment necessary to create your garment/outfit. However, participants are welcome to also use the tools and facilities at The ReDress Hub during our open hours for a reduced fee.

How do I enter?

1. Purchase your ReDressed entry ticket here on Eventbrite (one ticket per garment/outfit entry) to receive your entry form. **This gives you important additional information for your entry, including a 50% discount to our remaking workshops.**

2. Decide who you are going to make this garment for – either yourself, friend or family member who is also willing to be part of the ReDressed ReFashion Show to model the garment should you be selected as a finalist (all people of any age can be a model)

3. Select your preloved garment(s) you are going to remake. You are limited to no more than three (3) preloved garments to create one upcycled garment or outfit, and no fabrics larger than 50x50cm (including rescued fabrics such as bed linen and tablecloths) may be used.

4. Take photos of your existing garment(s) BEFORE you redesign them as this is a **requirement for entry**

5. Redesign and remake your garment.

You may wish to make use of the special workshops we have planned at The ReDress Hub to support you through this process with inspiration and techniques. See the ReDressed Collection Workshops on Eventbrite and choose the ReDressed Competitor ticket for a 50% reduced fee for one of these workshops.

6. Take photos of all waste fabric and notions (zips, buttons, seams etc) not used in the final garment/outfit

7. Submit your garment(s), entry form and photo of the original garment(s) and any waste materials they were redesigned from to The ReDress Hub by 5pm, 21st August 2026.

8. If you are selected as a finalist for the ReDressed ReFashion Show you will be notified by email in the week prior to the REDRESSED 2026 ReFashion Show on 17th September.

How will the garments be judged?

Entries will be judged by a panel of experts (see each of the judges and their bios below) against the following criteria:

  1. Circular design and sustainability
  2. Creativity and innovation
  3. Skills and craftsmanship
  4. Wearability
  5. Ability to be replicated

**All entries must address the first 4 Criteria. Criterion 5 is an additional mandatory criterion for Professional Designer Makers and Fashion &/or textile design tertiary students only**
