RULES AND REGULATIONS
ANGLER TEAMS
Each team/boat will consist of 4 anglers.
Each registered team/boat will receive a $30.00 food/drink voucher and two official tournament shirts. Additional shirts can be purchased at the event or pre-paid for using the registration form.
***If a team wants their team/boat name on their shirts, details must be written on the registration form and turned in at least 7 days before the tournament to allow for production time.
SOLO ANGLERS
Each registered solo angler will be issued a $15.00 food/drink voucher and one official tournament shirt.
PARTICIPANTS
This event is open to all men, women and children. Family participation is encouraged with a Max of four anglers per boat. Individual angler participation is encouraged as well.
All participants are participating at their own risk.
TOURNAMENT TIMES
Shotgun start at 7AM Saturday, November 1st and tournament end-time is 3PM same day.
All pictures must be time-stamped and sent to the tournament committee via email to [email protected] by 3PM on the day of the tournament.
All registered teams/boats must be in-line & on-land, with their boat number visible by 4PM to be eligible for fishing awards.
ENTRY FEE/REGISTRATION
Registration is $300/boat or $75.00 per individual angler.

Checks must be made out to "Redfish Spot Tournaments, Inc."
CAPTAINS MEETING
To be held at the Cortez Kitchen at 7PM Thursday October 30th.
A member from each team/boat and all solo anglers MUST be present at the captains meeting.
BOATING SAFETY
Every boat/angler must meet all federal, state and local safety regulations. All anglers are responsible for ensuring that all applicable federal, state, and local fishing laws and regulations are adhered to. Any violation of any statue or regulation by a boat or angler may be grounds for disqualification at the sole discretion of the tournament rules committee. Disqualification forfeits a refund of any kind.
FISHING METHODS
Legal methods for catching fish are rod and reel only. You may use live, dead or artificial baits. All fish must be caught during tournament hours.
ANGLER NUMBERS
Each boat/ individual angler will receive a tournament number at the captains' meeting. This number must accompany every fish photo entered.
SCORING
Event scoring is determined by the number of spots or lack-thereof including both sides of a live Redfish regardless of its size. A clear and distinct line must be visible between spots.
Should any angler/team submit more than one photo per category, the most viable one will be chosen after closing time of 3PM.
All fish photos will be reviewed by a designated spot committee member.
TIE BREAKER
All ties will be determined by the earliest check in time.
DISQUALIFICATION
In the event a placed winner is disqualified, the awards will be awarded to the next ranked winner. Disqualification would include fishing outside of designated tournament times and catching a entered Redfish with any means other than a reel and rod.
PROTESTS
Any protest must be submitted to the tournament committee in writing within 30 minutes after the closing of picture presentations on the day of the tournament which would be 3pm. Only registered anglers may file a protest. Each protest must be accompanied by a three-hundred-dollar ($300.00) deposit. In the event the protest is upheld, the deposit will be refunded. If the protest is not upheld, the deposit will be forfeited. The decisions of the rules committee are binding regarding any protest.
MISCELLANEOUS
*Fishing will commence after the 7AM shotgun start from TBD
*All photos must be entered by 3PM when the tournament ends.
*The awards ceremony will start at 4PM and be held at the Cortez Kitchen.
*The tournament is an open format. Participants can fish any navigable waters in West Central Florida.
*The use of cell phones is the only form of communication to the tournament committee for questions during the tournament.
*No two boats can come together for any reason, unless there is an emergency.
*Once your boat is launched, you may wade fish, but all anglers must be within 100 yards of the boat at all times.
*The tournament reserves the right to delay, cancel or reschedule the tournament for inclement weather conditions, unfavorable for anglers’ safety.
*If the tournament is delayed, canceled or rescheduled due to any cause beyond our control all fees will be donated to both CCA and the Safe Children's Coalition of Sarasota and Manatee.
*The tournament rules committee reserves the right to amend any rule due to safety concerns.
All registrants and participants are responsible for knowing and following all tournament rules, state and federal laws. Tournament rules may be amended at the captains' meeting as needed!
