About this Event
Join us for an insightful, empowering, and heartfelt evening dedicated to Asian Men’s Mental Health. This event will address the unique challenges Asian men face, from cultural stigmas surrounding mental health to the pressures of traditional masculinity and identity. The evening will begin with a panel discussion moderated by Michael Ly, focusing on the work of Leo Xia, a men’s wellness coach and facilitator, and the Asian Mental Health Project, a nonprofit organization committed to educating and empowering Asian communities to seek mental healthcare. Two years ago, Leo and the Asian Mental Health Project collaborated to launch Proud Asian Men, a free biweekly support group designed to create a safe space for Asian men to connect, reflect, and heal. Since its inception, the group has grown into a thriving community, expanding into in-person experiences and programming. The panel will delve into the triumphs and challenges of maintaining a consistent mental health space for Asian men. Audience questions, gathered before the panel begins, will guide parts of the discussion, and there will also be opportunities for live Q&A throughout the event.
Following the panel, Asian men are invited to participate in a small group session facilitated by Leo Xia. This intimate space will offer attendees a chance to discuss their mental health journeys and share stories about masculinity, cultural identity, and their intersections.
