Red Smith and Blue Dawn (Red Smith-Guitar/vocals, Matt Zuckerman-Dobro, Shelly Monroe-Bass and Skyler Cumbia-fiddle), is an acoustic string band known for their captivating blend of folk, bluegrass, and Americana music. Formed in January 2024 the band features a lineup of skilled musicians who bring together a rich mix of traditional and original tunes. The band’s repertoire includes a variety of genres, from upbeat, foot-stomping bluegrass to soulful ballads and everything in between. Their performances are celebrated for their high energy, tight arrangements, engaging lyrics and storytelling. Red Smith and Blue Dawn have built a strong following through their energetic live shows and have been featured at numerous festivals and local venues, steadily gaining recognition for their authentic sound and dynamic stage presence.

The Old State House concert series is presented by Delaware Friends of Folk. These events are supported by a grant from the Kent County Fund for the Arts, an organization that aims to enhance the quality of life, educate, and broaden perspectives by supporting the arts and arts organizations in Kent County. Support is also provided by the First State Heritage Park, a partnership of State and City agencies under the leadership of Delaware State Parks and the Delaware Division of Historical and Cultural Affairs.
