Join me for a relaxed, in-person pastel workshop where we’ll create a beautiful bird study using soft pastels on dark paper. This session focuses on building form, colour, and atmosphere through confident layering and expressive pastel marks, allowing the texture of the paper to play an important role in the finished painting.
You’ll be guided step by step through the process, from establishing the main shapes to developing feather textures and subtle details, without overworking the surface. We’ll explore colour choices, visible mark-making, and how to suggest detail while keeping the painting fresh and painterly.
