Red Hat Stitch-In

In solidarity with Minneapolis and the fight against ICE, we are joining the local small business Needle & Skein in their craftivist initiative to raise funds for their community. Join us on Thursday, February 12th from 5-8PM for a RED HAT STITCH-IN where our community can come together to stitch this historic red hat as an act of resistance and in support of local aid in Minneapolis.

This event is free to attend, you just need to buy the $5 pattern here and BYO yarn!

The red tassel hat is a historic act of resistance, started in the 1940s in Norway as an act of visual protest during WW2. Purchasing the red hat pattern directly supports emergency aid in the greater Minneapolis area. Needle & Skein has raised over $250,000, and is currently donating funds to STEP St. Louis Park Emergency Assistance and the Immigrant Rapid Response Fund.

During our event, we’ll be raising funds to support our local Providence immigrant community. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Dorcas International.
