Red Dawn Decentralized/Extended Campaign 1 Sept 2026-30 November 2026
Cost- 15.00 USD per Playgroup
The purpose of this document is to be a framework for the conduct of a narrative campaign played over a 12-week period. It will be decentralized and not tied to a single FLGS or weekend of play. It is purely narrative and not competitive. The campaign will use adapted rules from the Bagration Firestorm set. The campaign will include firestorm troops and the use of rewards cards like those found in the Flames of War Aces Campaign Card sets. The TO will set up a sharable campaign command center where the campaign map will be viewable by all participants. There will also be a group chat of some sort for the respective Redfor and Blufor teams. Updates to the map will be made following specific weeks of play.
Organization of teams
Participating Teams will be formed at FLGS/Clubs up to a total of six. There will be two team alignments, Redfor and Blufor, led by one General each. This General controls where firestorm troops are moved on the map and how they are allocated for battle. The two teams will be spread across multiple gaming Clubs and FLGS. Each FLGS/Club needs to have both Redfor and Blufor players. One member from each side at every FLGS/Club will be a Team commander that is responsible for placing their battle arrow on their chosen territory during rounds of play.
Battle Arrows
There will be a total of six Battle Arrows that can be placed on the campaign map. Each will be allocated during the roll for initiative step. During the weeks that arrows are placed on the map every game played is in relation to that action. Over the course of the week whichever side wins the majority of the total games played wins the arrow. Ties will be decided by total points scored by both teams over the course of the week of play. During Campaign Map Battles weeks at least two games must be played.
Conduct of Campaign
The Campaign will feature two distinct individual weeks of specified play over the course of the campaign. The weeks alternate between Campaign Map Battle play and Shaping Operation play. Campaign Map Battle play features games that impact movement on the battle map. Shaping Operations are games that don’t cause movement on the map but do provide overall campaign points and a means for players to earn rewards cards. There is no obligation for players to play Shaping Operations games. Shaping Operations will occur in the odd numbered weeks of play. Campaign Battle Map play will occur in the even weeks of play.
Example
Week one- Shaping Operations. Initial invasion has occurred Redfor toehold in southern Texas and northern Montana. Team Commanders, in conjunction with Generals, decide on the first battle arrow placement. Generals decide firestorm troop placement. On the last day of the week all decisions are final. All arrows and firestorm troops dispositions reported to TO for placement on map.
Weeks 2,4,6,8,10,12- Campaign Battle Map play. Battles rage across the Continental US. Teams play out decisions made during prior Shaping Operations week.
Weeks 3,5,7,9,11- Shaping Operations. Battles rage across the Continental Us. Diversions and feints occur with the same ferocity as key battles. Note: These weeks are important to allow the TO to update the map and prepare for the follow-on Campaign Battle Map play.
Campaign Map Battles will be played between 85-105 point forces. It will be up to playgroups to decide. shaping operations can be small games using 50-60 point force or larger forces using the points above for Campaign Map battles. There are no force restrictions or nation restrictions. For purposes of determining a player's side use Battlefront's alignments.
