About this Event
Are you concerned about natural disasters? Do the recent fires in California (or Maui), the hurricanes on the East Coast, or Kilauea acting up have you concerned? In times of disaster like these, the Red Cross is always there to lend a hand, offer much needed recovery supplies and even assist in emergency evacuations. We’re able to do this because community members like you raise their hands to help, take training so they’re able to respond when needed, and then rise up to assist when disaster strikes. In fact, 90% of the work done by the Red Cross is done by volunteers like you.
Want to learn more? Join us on Saturday February 8th, from 9-11am for a Red Cross Volunteer orientation and training. At this event you’ll meet current volunteers from our disaster response department. They’ll talk with you 1x1 about their experiences working in a large-scale disaster. You’ll have the opportunity to take our Disaster Cycle Services Overview class, where you’ll learn about all the areas that are available to work on a disaster response and how you can help.
Then, if you decide to join, our team will be there to assist you with the application process, answer any questions you may have and introduce you to the team. And of course…there will be coffee and doughnuts.
So, JOIN US! We hope to see you there. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.
*Parking is available on-site behind the building. We are also on bus routes 2 and 3 that go to Diamondhead monument or Kapiolani Community College.
