JOIN US at our monthly Second Saturday contra dance with the exhilarating music of the Red Case Band!Contra NYC 2025 calls the Red Case Band "an electrifying deep-space groove party machine, featuring Stuart Kenney (interstellar banjo trance, deep bass pulsars), Clara Constance (star-shimmering harp and fiddle), Alex Cumming (cumulonimbus accordion and piano), Matt Kenney (galactic percussion), and Max Newman (gamma ray electric guitar). Their richly textured musical signal shakes to the planetary core and broadcasts on all danceable frequencies."

- Most of all, we want our dance to be fun and welcoming.

The basics:
- When someone asks you to dance, you can choose to say “Yes” or “No thank you,” no explanation needed.
- Before you dance with your partner, discuss your role preferences and any physical preferences/limitations.
- Dance in a way that’s comfortable for your partner and neighbors. Respect other people's boundaries.
- If someone makes you feel physically or emotionally uncomfortable, let them know. If that doesn't help, tell a safety team member and we can help.
- Our dance is alcohol and drug free.
- Larks and robins role terms.
COVID policy:
Masks optional but appreciated. Windows will be open with fans for increased ventilation. If you have any cold or flu symptoms, please stay home and we will see you next dance.
