About this Event

Gates Open 10:30am to 3:30pm daily. Last entry 2:00pm.
Shows at 11am and 1:30pm
Families are invited to our May Open Days to experience The Ballad of Red and the Wilding Wolf — a specially commissioned theatre production and a bold, enchanting retelling of the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood, woven with themes of wild places, curiosity, and caring for the world around us.
Beyond the stage, the story spills out into the landscape. Children can journey through a series of immersive scenes inspired by the play — visit Grandma’s House, crawl into the Belly of the Wolf, or gather round the Camp Fire to share stories. Little explorers can get busy making in the craft tent or following the trail around the museum.
Our Open Days are a chance for families to wander at leisure, play a little longer, and enjoy our surroundings. Guests may choose a grounds-only ticket to enjoy the activities and outdoor adventure or book a combined tickets to include the theatre performance as part of your visit.
