Since 1808, The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard has stood as a beacon of dedication, honor, and community service. We are seeking motivated, disciplined individuals who share a passion for horsemanship, historical preservation, and civic duty to join our elite ranks.
No prior military or advanced equestrian experience is required—we train those who have the drive to serve.
WHY JOIN?
Master Equestrian Skills: Receive training in horsemanship, cavalry maneuvers, and drill and ceremony from experienced instructors.
Preserve Living History: Participate in historic parades and state ceremonies.
Build Camaraderie: Become part of a tight-knit community bound by shared values, discipline, and mutual respect.
Serve Your Community: Play a vital role in the state of Connecticut!
WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN A RECRUIT:
Must be age 18-63.
Must be a resident of Connecticut.
A strong sense of commitment and personal integrity.
The desire to maintain military standards within the organized state militia.
A willingness to learn, work in a high functioning team, and help care for our beautiful horses.
Availability at mandatory weekly drills and public events throughout the year.
