Reconnecting Families: "I'M GROWN" (Live Panel & Community Discussion)
About this Event
How do we bridge the generational divide? We start by listening.
Too often in our communities, families drift apart because of a simple breakdown in communication. Parents are trying to protect, youth are trying to find their path, and somewhere in the middle, we stop talking to each other and start talking past each other.
On Saturday, August 1st, join Brandon Samuels and SamzSportz Network for a powerful, raw, and unfiltered live panel discussion: "I'M GROWN."
We are bringing together a dynamic panel of youth and young adults (ages 14 to 21) to share their honest, real-world perspectives on what "being grown" actually means in today's culture. This isn't a lecture, and it isn't a space for judgment. It is a safe haven designed to build a bridge between generations, confront tough topics head-on, and back it all up with the Word of God.
Core Topics We Will Address:
- Family Dynamics & Boundaries: Where is the line where parental guidance starts to feel like control?
- The Respect Standard: Addressing communication breakdowns and "talking sideways" to elders.
- The Urgency to Leave: Why do so many teenagers feel the pressure to escape home early?
- Early Success & Support Systems: How young athletes and youth navigating early financial success stay grounded.
- Peer Influence vs. Mentorship: Why kids turn to friends their own age for advice instead of parents.
- Defining Real Support: What does "more support" actually look like from a young person's perspective?
The Live Audience Q&A (Only 5 Questions!)
After our panel speaks, we are opening the floor to the audience. This is a rare opportunity for parents and youth in the room to ask direct questions to our panel of "generational experts."
⚠️ Note: To respect everyone's time and keep the program moving, we will take exactly 5 questions from the floor. Make your questions count!
