Reclaiming the Narrative: A Storytelling Workshop

In collaboration with Bradford City of Sanctuary, we are holding a Know Your Rights Programme for the community, the event, Reclaiming the Narrative: A Storytelling Workshop is part of the programme!

Join journalist and community organiser John Offord from the Bradford StoryHub for a free, interactive storytelling workshop on 11 February at Millside Centre.
This relaxed session is open to migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers, aged 18+ / no experience needed.

Together, we’ll explore how communities are represented in the media, the impact of stereotypes (including in the context of the rise of the far right), and how storytelling can help reclaim narratives and amplify lived experience.
Participants will have the chance to reflect on their own stories and try out simple ways of sharing them - through writing, audio, or conversation. The session is designed to be empowering, inclusive, and rooted in community voice.
Bradford StoryHub is a year-long project supporting local people to tell their stories, challenge misrepresentation, and reflect the realities of life in Bradford.
