Reclaimed Routes Bus Tour: Exploring the Queen’s Bush
August 22, 2026 | 12:00 PM
Step aboard for a guided journey through the historic Queen’s Bush, where Black freedom seekers established vibrant communities after escaping enslavement. Along the route, we’ll explore the stories of the families who built homes, churches, schools, and cemeteries across what are now Waterloo Region and Wellington County. Today, many of these sites have disappeared from the landscape, but their history and legacy remain. This tour offers an opportunity to uncover these often-overlooked stories and reflect on the resilience, determination, and contributions of early Black settlers in the region.
