Helping your clients to get their finances back on track after a set back can be challenging, especially when their confidence is low and money worries feel overwhelming.

During this session we’ll explore the practical ways you can help clients before they get to crisis point and how to get their finances back on track after a setback.

Overcoming Barriers to Budgeting

There will be a group discussion where we’ll explore the cultural influences, mindset blocks, and everyday pressures that make budgeting difficult and explore practical ways to help clients overcome these barriers.

Building financial resilience

Paul Fox from MaPS will explore how to help clients build financial resilience and the work that’s being done by MaPS to support this.

Reaching clients before the crisis point. IFAN will share:

  • Why crisis support matters and the impact of effective crisis relief support
  • The pivotal role the new Crisis and Resilience Fund will play in helping people access timely support.
  • How to identify when someone is approaching financial crisis and how to reach them early with support that makes a meaningful difference.
  • How to start sensitive conversations about money worries
  • How to use theWorrying About Money?’ leaflet to get the most impact. Discover how this resource acts as a bridge to support, how to navigate the leaflet, and where to share it to help support get to those who need it most.

Equipping people with the money skills to get back on track

  • How to help clients to set and maintain a budget
  • An exploration of how past experiences can shape our relationship with money and impact how finances are managed
  • The sources of support available for those who need help getting their finances back on track
