Journeys are different than a regular Just Dance. They are intentional dance events that build on the transformational power of music and dance to guide you on a journey of personal exploration, discovery and expansion. They are skillfully led by a guest facilitator who intuitively guides the flow of the dance. To support this, the dancefloor is also a *non-verbal* space during the whole evening.
For our only Journeys this season, facilitator Siren of the Elements along with both JD co-resident DJs Abheeru and Raghunath Khe will co-create a unique experience around the theme: REBORN. Music will support each stage of the Journeys and will adapt based on the organic interactions between the dancers, facilitator, and DJs.
We *kindly* invite you to arrive early (9 pm) for the opening circle during which the intention and the overall arch (stages) of the Journeys will be detailed. You are also encouraged to stay until the Journeys ends as there will be a closing circle that facilitates integration. All our events are preceded by an optional active meditation at 7:30 pm.
THEME: REBORN
4 Stages: Breath with Air, Body with Earth, Power with Fire, and Nourish with Water.
We will first begin with the breath, the voice, and the gift of psychological perception. Then we will move deeper in the body as the music slowly will become more earthy and take us down deep into the corporal physical form. For the third stage, we will unlock the transformative power of fire and let it carve our strength and our discernment and allow what needs to burn, to burn. Then we will close with the gentle nourishment of water to replenish our soil with the intensions that allow us to be REBORN and grow in love.
This REBORN Journeys is symbolic of the societal structural burn and spiritual processes that come with the release of an inner storm. It will bring us nourishment and grace but only after the warrior process has had an opportunity to run its course. Through songs and spoken word we will be REBORN to our values, our power, and the language of love.

She has Middle Eastern roots; her mother immigrated from Iran, which influences her artistic style. She is known for her high energy, playful, and charismatic stage presence. She is aiming to encourage people to get into their bodies and out of their minds through dance.
Siren has been featured at dozens of ecstatic dances and events across the Lower Mainland and is quickly gaining traction for her ability to create spaces for breakthroughs to happen.

Abheeru has cultivated a profound and rapturous relationship to Global Fusion music, DJing, community service and dancing. As the founder of Just Dance, he has produced, promoted and DJed more than 650 events for over 60,000 dancers. Those were done in the spirit of service as he has always wanted for JD to donate all of its proceeds to local charities and nonprofit groups. For over three decades, he has continued to innovate, inspire and promote new musical concepts for the Vancouver dance community.

As a DJ, Abheeru is known for taping into an extensive palette of genres and styles from far-reaching locations around the world. His main passion is to infuse and mix a wide range of musical organic elements and instruments from many diverse cultures and to blend those with delectable and powerful modern dance beats. The results are exquisitely creative dance sets that will keep your dancing soul and shoes happy.
:: RAGHUNATH KHE ::
Raghunath Khe has been an intrinsic part of the evolving conscious / fringe dance culture for more than 25 years. An innovative composer, producer, and dj, they are interested in the transformative and transcendent properties of music, movement, bhajan, and community. They have previously released four albums, earlier ones under the moniker Haitchc, and have composed multiple original film scores.
Raghunath is a formal brahmana initiate within the brahma-madhva-gaudiya sampradaya (lineage) committed to practice, having spent several uninterrupted years in their youth as a student monk serving in temples both in Canada and India. Regularly performing, teaching, and orchestrating events, they are affiliated with the Waxing Moon collective, Intention Gathering, and are a co-resident dj and organizer at Vancouver's long-running Just Dance night. In addition, Raghunath contributes musically and otherwise to various festivals and gatherings locally and internationally. A long-time radio presence, they are currently the host and producer of Mantra Radio on CiTR 101.9fm in Vancouver.

Just Dance is a positive party community event. It offers a unique opportunity to dance to an eclectic selection of music from around the world.
