Rebecca's newest book, Rebecca of Hickory Point Farm, guides readers to connect with their past and their heritage. The book, featuring her grandfather's letters, captures the themes of family, friendship, and the growth of love. Stop in anytime between 11:00 and 1:00 to meet Rebecca, talk about her book, and purchase your personally signed copy of the book. Light refreshments will also be provided.
In retirement, Rebecca Kordatzky is doing penance to her former eighth-grade students for burdening them with ‘thousands’ of writing assignments in English class. Contrary to their hopes and expectations, she is enjoying it, almost as much as she treasures memories of being with them. Reading, quilting, gardening and time with family and friends also fill her time. She and her husband, John, live in Milton Wisconsin, with their parakeets, Chitter and Chatter. Their family includes three marvelous children, their amazing spouses and seven brilliant grandchildren.
“The biggest blessing (while writing this story) has been the opportunity to examine in deeper detail the heritage I have been given. Observing the ripples of that heritage leaves me thankful and indebted. So much of who I am has come down from the ages. Family is important. Relationships are a top priority. Developing a strong work ethic with honesty and persistence is imperative. Find the fun or enjoyment in every task. Life’s goal is to help and serve others. Show truthfulness, be kind and give grace. Stay curious and keep learning. Be willing to take responsible risks; be a problem solver rather than a problem maker. Express gratitude and thanksgiving while treasuring blessings. Value and protect all life -- nature, animals, people. In short, I have received the truest treasure, an inheritance of love.”--Rebecca Kordatzky
