Wild Divide
Malayalam with English subtitles (60 minutes)
Wild Divide is a deeply intimate and urgent exploration of one of India’s most complex and emotionally charged ecological crises the human-wildlife conflict in Wayanad, Kerala. Set in a fragile zone where ancient forests meet growing human settlements, the film journeys through the lives of those caught in the crosshairs: indigenous communities, farmers, forest officials, activists, and the animals themselves.
Told through layered, interwoven narratives, the film captures a landscape where fear, survival, and coexistence collide. From the haunting silences of a village mourning a lost loved one to the quiet resilience of a forest officer walking a lonely path of duty, Wild Divide doesn’t take sides instead, it seeks to understand. It sheds light on both systemic failures and ground-level innovations, offering a rare window into the emotional and political complexity of coexistence in a rapidly changing India.
