About this Event

🫀 Real-World Skills & Readiness Lab™: Cardiac Rhythm & ECG Interpretation Edition for Beginners

Join Darlene Hutton, Owner of QRS Educational Services, as she guides you through a systematic approach to cardiac rhythm interpretation. Move beyond memorization to practical decision-making strategies.

This is an interactive workshop for learners who are newer to cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation — or those looking for a thorough and structured refresher. No prior ECG experience required.

This interactive full-day workshop is ideal for:

  • Travel Nurses
  • Nursing students
  • New graduate nurses
  • Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs)
  • RPNs and RNs transitioning into acute or higher-acuity settings
  • Nurses seeking a practical refresher

This workshop is for healthcare professionals who want to feel genuinely confident reading cardiac rhythms and interpreting 12-lead ECGs — including those who are newer to STEMI and ACS recognition. It also serves as an excellent refresher for those working in Emergency Departments or other critical care settings.

📍 What You’ll Explore

  • Foundational cardiac rhythm concepts and terminology
  • A systematic approach to rhythm interpretation
  • Common arrhythmias and their clinical significance
  • Realistic patient case scenarios and clinical decision-making
  • Communication considerations and escalation awareness in practice
  • Strategies to build confidence approaching cardiac monitoring environments
  • The RIRI Systematic Approach to ECG Assessment:
    R — Rate
    I — Intervals
    R — Rhythm
    I — Ischemia / Infarction
  • What is Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS)? The significance of ST elevation and depression. Complications and treatment of STEMI.
  • Case Study Jeopardy
Apply everything you have learned through a competitive, case-based capstone activity.
