Reading Textiles: Batik of the Artis(an)s

Batik is a textile known for its rich narrative and symbolism. In this two-hour workshop, curator Tony Sugiarta will share his process of breaking down and describing the batik textiles featured in the exhibition. Participants will then learn how to identify components and to present a simple narrative of a batik cloth.

• This session requires active participation and will be suitable for all level of batik appreciators who are curious what story their batik actually tells.
