Reading Group and Tea Ceremony: A Psalm for the Wild-Built

In a time of dystopian narratives, let’s read, listen, and discuss Becky Chambers’ beloved first book in the Monk and Robot series, A Psalm for the Wild-Built. This short science fiction novella is described as “an optimistic vision of a lush, beautiful world.” We will spend the morning reading together, then conclude our time with a tea ceremony and debrief of the text. We welcome educators, students, and community members interested to think about communal reading, nurturing imaginative futures for themselves or their classrooms, or those simply looking for an opportunity to slow down and spend time with a book.
Tea and light snacks will be provided. Bring a lunch!
