About this Event
The East York-Scarborough Reading Association is excited to share early registration discounts for the 2025 Reading for the Love of It Conference:
- Register for 2-days and secure a 10% discount
- Register for 1-day (including student tickets) and secure a 5% discount
Discounts do not apply to any of the keynote meal functions which have yet to be announced. This promotion will end at 11:30pm on Friday, June 28th, after which our regular conference fees will apply. Regular registration will be open to and including on-site at the conference.
About
Reading for the Love of It is an annual language arts conference bringing together local, national and international authorities in the field of literacy.
This unique professional development opportunity takes place over two days and offers:

- Over 70 exhibitors offering discounted books, and strategic learning tools

The conference is hosted by the East York-Scarborough Reading Association; a not-for-profit committed to improving the quality of literacy instruction and encouraging the development of a lifelong love of reading.

The Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel
The conference takes place at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel; arrangements have been made for a reduced rate for attendees wishing to stay overnight from Wednesday, February 19th to Saturday, February 22, 2025. More information will be available soon.
Hotel bookings are optional and are not included in the conference registration fee.

Meals and Drinks
Meals are not provided unless you have purchased a ticket(s) to one of our meal keynote presentations. Attendees are encouraged to purchase/bring their own food to the conference. The closest restaurant options are located in the hotel and in the connected PATH.
Water stations are provided throughout the conference.

Reception and Banquet
Tickets can be purchased with or without registration to the conference.
Meal Keynote Presentations
Tickets to the meal keynote presentations require registration to the conference and must be purchased as an add-on. They are not included in the registration fee.
Paying by Cheque
If you plan to pay by cheque, you must also register on Eventbrite indicating that you will be mailing in your payment; the system will recognize your payment as pending. Once payment is received, your registration record will be updated, and a receipt will be emailed to you immediately. We will not accept post-dated cheques. There is a $50.00 charge for NSF cheques. IMPORTANT: Your registration will only be considered complete on receipt of payment. On receipt, we will update your online record as paid, and you will receive an email confirmation/receipt.
Funding
If you are pursuing funding to cover your conference fees, please secure prior to completing your registration. You can use your receipt to submit to your administrator or school board as proof of having paid for the conference, for reimbursement as needed.
Receipts
We will not be mailing a hard copy of your receipt. Print your digital receipt or save it to your electronic device. Bring your receipt with you to the conference to provide proof of purchase. All receipts will be checked for verification prior to being allowed entry into any meal keynote presentation.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be issued up until December 31, 2024. All refund requests after that date will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We must receive an email request regardless of when a refund is requested, but generally refunds requested after January 1st, 2025, are only issued on an emergency basis. Refunds requested by telephone will not be honoured. Requests can be emailed via the Eventbrite system or sent directly to [email protected]
Note: Our association is an independent not-for-profit organization. Although founded by the TDSB and TCDSB almost 50 years ago, the professional development that we provide at Reading for the Love of It is an independent undertaking and not bound to any school boards or teacher unions. As such, any requests for refunds due to school board or union labour disputes, should there be any that would prevent a registered attendee from attending the conference, will not be considered for a refund after our January 1, 2025 deadline. Only medical emergencies are considered.
