Reading for a Bright Future: Storytime with Local Authors

Reading for a Bright Future is a program hosted by Opportunity Uplifted that celebrates childhood literacy and helps families build joyful reading routines at home.

This February, we’re bringing families together for a special Storytime with Local Authors at the Brunswick-Glynn County Library. Come enjoy engaging read-alouds, meet authors from our community, and spend a Saturday morning centered around stories, connection, and learning.

What to expect

• Live storytime/read-alouds with local authors
• A welcoming, family-friendly environment
• Time to connect with community members who care about kids and literacy

Who should attend

• Families with children (especially early learners and elementary-aged kids)
• Educators, caregivers, and anyone who loves supporting youth literacy

Schedule (approx.)

• 10:30 AM – Welcome + getting settled
• 10:45 AM – Storytime begins
• 12:15 PM – Closing + final connections
• 12:30 PM – Event ends
