The Turkey Raffle is one of the largest annual fundraisers for Reading Fire Department Inc. Proceeds from this event support fire prevention, public education, and both public and firefighter safety.The event is held each November on the Friday and Saturday before Thanksgiving, starting at 7:00 p.m. each night. Turkeys and gift cards will be distributed to winners at Vonderhaar’s Market the following Monday.
Food and drinks, including beer, will be available for purchase during the event.
Reading residents will receive a mailing with a presale ticket order form. Tickets can also be purchased at the firehouse or at the event. Each ticket is worth $0.25 and may be used the same as cash during the raffle. Each round of the wheel includes 220 numbers. Two numbers can be purchased for $0.25. If your number matches the wheel, you win your choice of a turkey, a gift certificate, or a gift card to Vonderhaar’s Market.
The Turkey Raffle is one of the longest-running and most popular traditions in Reading. The Reading Fire Department appreciates your continued support and looks forward to another great turnout at this long-standing community event.
