The Reading Fire Department's annual Turkey Raffle functions as one of the largest annual fundraiser for the Reading Fire Department Inc. Proceeds from this event go towards fire prevention, public education, and public and firefighter safety.
The annual Turkey Raffle is held each November, Friday and Saturday prior to Thanksgiving. Each night the event starts at 7:00pm. Turkeys, and gift cards are distributed to the winners at Vonderhaar's Market on the following Tuesday.
Food and drinks (including beer and wine) will be available for purchase during the event.
Reading residents will receive a mailing that will include a presale ticket order form. Tickets are available for purchase at the firehouse. You can also purchase tickets at the event. These tickets are used the same as cash the nights of the event. Each ticket holds a value equal to $0.25 cents. Each spin of the wheel or "a round" consists of 220 numbers. Numbered tickets can be purchased on the floor from sellers using presale tickets or cash. Two numbered tickets can be purchased for $0.25 cents. If your number matches the wheel, you have won your choice of a turkey, or a gift certificate or a gift card to Vonderhaars Market.
