DEMOS Institute of Critical Thought in cooperation with Centre for Aristotelian Studies and Critical Theory, Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, and Kaunas University of Technology is organizing the Reading and Public Discussion Group “Artificial Intelligence, Labour, and Digital Capitalism”.
The AI revolution is transforming our societies at breathtaking speed. Its influence on daily life, work, and politics is already profound—and it is only accelerating. For democratic societies, understanding and shaping this transformation is not optional; it is essential.
Today, the AI industry is largely privatized and increasingly concentrated in the hands of a few powerful Tech corporations. This reality makes public awareness and critical engagement more important than ever. How is AI produced? Who controls it? And most importantly—how should AI be used if we are to truly flourish as democratic societies?
This Reading & Discussion Group offers a rare opportunity to explore these urgent questions in depth.
Led by Prof. Andrius Bielskis, who recently conducted research at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and completed a month-long ethnographic study in Silicon Valley, the sessions draw on first-hand insights into the growing power of the AI industry and its impact on human flourishing. Expect thoughtful analysis, open dialogue, and meaningful discussion.
We warmly invite you to join this engaging and thought-provoking series.

Užsiėmimus veda profesorius Andrius Bielskis, tyrinėjęs DI poveikį žmogaus klestėjimui The Graduate Center, CUNY (Niujorkas) ir atlikęs lauko tyrimus Silicon Valley.
Vieta: 101 auditorija, LAB MRU, Didlaukio g. 55, Vilnius
