About this Event
The Read Write Rhyme Conference
Assessment-Driven Literacy. Research-Anchored Innovation.
Georgia-Focused Impact.
The Read Write Rhyme Conference is a two-day professional learning experience designed for educators and school leaders who want to examine literacy through research, culture, assessment, and practice.
FRIDAY | READ WRITE RHYME INNER CIRCLE
The Inner Circle gives participants an opportunity to experience Read Write Rhyme in a smaller, more intimate setting. Participants select ONE of two hands-on experiences:
The Curriculum Cipher
Participants examine hip-hop texts, traditional texts, music, media, and instructional materials while practicing how to identify genuine opportunities for rigorous student thinking.
or
The Producer’s Classroom
Participants step behind the turntables for a hands-on introduction to vinyl DJing, rhythm, cueing, and the foundations of scratching with a DJ or beatmaker.
The Inner Circle has limited capacity and requires a separate ticket or VIP registration.
SATURDAY | READ WRITE RHYME CONFERENCE
Saturday centers on literacy instruction, assessment, research, and classroom application. The conference positions hip-hop discourse as a structured, standards aligned approach to reading and writing grounded in the Science of Reading and Disciplinary Literacy.
Participants examine complex lyrical texts and other multimodal texts to strengthen vocabulary development, comprehension, syntax awareness, critical analysis, and analytical writing aligned with ELA Standards and assessment expectations. Sessions connect research to classroom practice and emphasize measurable outcomes through assessment and instructional planning.
The conference serves teachers, instructional coaches, school leaders, and education professionals seeking practical, research grounded approaches to literacy instruction. Participants explore hip-hop as a broad body of language, music, texts, discourse, and creative practices that provide opportunities to strengthen reading, writing, analysis, communication, and critical thinking across disciplines.
