<h4>What is the Read- On program?</h4>

Read-On is a free tutoring program designed to help children improve their literacy skills in English and/or French. Tutoring sessions can also be designed to incorporate math in addition to literacy upon request. Participants are paired with a Read-On tutor for a 45-minute time slot occurring daily over a two-week period.

At this time participants are only eligible to register for ONE session, regardless of which branch. If this changes as we exhaust the waitlist you will be notified through email.

Our tutors are university students with a special interest in education. This program is offered at both the Main Branch (173 Colborne St.) and the St. Paul Branch (441 St. Paul Ave.).

Programming at the Main Branch will occur Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Programming at the St. Paul Branch will occur Tuesday to Saturday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

<h4>Is my child eligible?</h4>

Children entering grades 2 to 6 in September 2024 are eligible for this program. All tutors have extensive experience working with children and receive training before the program begins. Please note, this program is not designed (nor are the tutors qualified) to teach children with special needs.

<h4>How do I register my child?</h4>

Online registration will open Saturday June 1st, 2024 at 9:30 am. Registration in-person and over the phone will not be accepted.

<h4>Important Notes:</h4>

We are only allowing one session per child. If you register your child(ren) for more than one session the additional registrations will be removed. If you accidentally register your child for more than one session, please email us to let us know which session you intend to keep.

Absence Policy: If your child is absent for 2 consecutive sessions, their spot will be forfeited.

If the first day of the session is missed your child’s spot will be forfeited.
