Come hang out in the Children's Department and share a story with the R.E.A.D. dogs! This program offers young readers the chance to enjoy the support and encouragement of a furry friend. Perfect for kids up to grade five who are struggling or reluctant readers. Reading to a dog creates a relaxed, non-threatening environment that boosts confidence and self-esteem. Each child gets fifteen minutes to read to a dog. Space is limited, so contact the Children’s Department to reserve your time slot: 701-772-8116.
